Selecting a Hearing Aid.........

Before choosing a hearing aid there are a number of factors to consider.  Some factors depend on the specific characteristics of your hearing loss, while others are personal........

  • Degree of Hearing Loss - Each person's hearing loss is different.  Certain hearing aids are more appropriate for different classifications of hearing loss and can provide better amplification to meet an individual's needs.

  • One or Two hearing aids? - Human hearing is designed for two ears, known as binaural listening.  In almost all cases patients benefit from wearing two hearing aids.

  • Tinnitus Feature - Some people experience a buzz or ringing in the ears, called tinnitus.  Many hearing aids now have built in tinnitus solutions and integrated apps to assist in tinnitus therapy treatments.

  • Price - Hearing aids are available in a variety of price ranges.  Improved technology and features can add to cost, but in return, may improve quality of life.

  • Program Options - Hearing aids use programs to ensure the hearing settings are always appropriate for your listening environment.  This results in effortless hearing, just as nature intended.

  • Technology - Modern hearing aids have advanced technolgy to give you a natural sense of where sounds are coming from and help you form a detailed sound picture of your surroundings.
